Archdiocese of Newark, NJ; IT'S NOT ABOUT ME

Archdiocese of Newark, NEW JERSEY After the visit to New Orleans, I found myself smack dab in the middle of the archdiocese of Newark, NJ! Bob McLaughlin and his crew of youth directors, youth advocates, youth workers, and along with, of course, the youth of the diocese, gathered together and threw a YOUTH FEST of faith. Folks from the diocese of Paterson, also joined in attendance. Al, Bob, Alan, Sr. Loreta, Jim, Fr. Joe, and other dedicated and crazy adults, helped pull all of this together. IT'S NOT ABOUT ME! was the theme, and we all tried to live that out. In our singing, in our praying, our playing and our committment to know, love and serve God, by doing that for one another! I spoke of challenging ourselves, our church, and each other in the effort to live what we claim. To be a child of God, a servant of the Lord and a friend of Jesus, makes us accountable and responsible. Send prayers of thanksgiving to the diocese for striving to live the mission of Christ, and especially to working with the young church, not just leading them, but allowing them to lead us.
