STOP THE MUSIC!

Not really. But slow it down for a second or two.
I want to tell you about some friends of mine who do exactly what I do and many of my spiritandsong.com companions do in the pastoral performing and praying art of evangelization, but waaaaaaaaaaay differently.
GENE MONTERASTELLI AND BRAD FARMER
These two itinerant (wandering) witnesses (of Jesus) deliver exactly what I strive to deliver.
Jesus.
The purpose, passion, and transforming presence of a God who loves, trusts, forgives, reconciles, transforms, challenges, invites, pushes and pulls us into this crazy adventure of doing the same for each other....especially the poor, forgotten, displaced and disrespected.
You should check them out and pray for them at www.apexministries.com Pray for APeX Ministries. Send them love.
JOIA FARMER
Joia is a friend and fellow itinerant witness. Absolutely no chromosomal connection to Gene, however there are rumors that she and Brad have a chromosomal connection through their son, Jack.
Of course Joia is a powerful singer. Of course she is a powerful witness to young and old alike. Of course she can sing rock, soul, jazz, punk, praise, worship, liturgical and Japanese. Well, maybe not Japanese, but she can seriously eat some sushi.
But Joia is the gift. Who Joia is as a person, yearning to serve and support young people and especially young girls; desiring with a servant's heart to make a difference in the lives of others, and teach others to do the same; she is the gift. Yes, she is an incredble musical talent and if you want to hear her, Joia has a great CD called GO HOME GIRL, and you can check that out at http://joiafarmer.com Pray for Joia. Send her love.
MIKE PATIN
Mike Patin is a maniac. He and his invisible friends Budreau and Thibadaux are a trio of trouble making in the faithful. Mike Patin is a husband, a father, and a bonafide friend of Jesus, the rebel. When Mike speaks, my cat, Morris, listens. Actually, everyone listens. And those who have ears and listen, Mike speaks a Christ-centered truth that can only be described as sincere, faith-filled, disturbing, and prophetic. He will have you laughing but before you know it you will be slapped with the truth and wonder where the heck that came from. It came from Mike. Who got it from the Spirit. Who got it from Jesus. Who got it from his mom and dad. http://mikepatin.com Pray for Mike. Send him love.
PETER KOLAR
Peter Kolar is published by World Library Publications, (WLP) and is a whole different kind of monster musician. He's not just that, however. He is an empowerer. I have seen him take a group of musicians, a room full of catechists, a room full of disciples, and offer a moment of transformation that trascends MUSIC. Music is made, but more importantly, disciples are raised. Disciples and servant-centered ministers of the gospel. That's what is striking about this brother. He does have a very cool self-produced CD that I love to listen to called PIANO keyz...You gotta check it out. Go to http://cdbaby.com/cd/pk05. You will love it! Moreover, you will get to know Peter. Pray for Peter. Send him love.
BOB PERRON
Bob Perron is a stooge for christ. As in www.stooge4christ.com He is married to Lisa and has 20,000 children; four that belong to he and Lisa, and the rest that belong to the Diocese of Des Moines, IA. Bob is the diocesan director, as well as husband and father of the year, voted 10 years in a row by wife. Bob has actually been voted International Catholic Edu-Tainer of the Year, 5 years in a row by his mom. Bob is one of the funniest men in the world. His material? His family. Duh. But underneath all the humor is an amazing depth of love, devotion, and faithfulness to Christ. The bottom line for Bob is Jesus, and how we allow Jesus to chase, change, and challenge us to people of justice and compassion. Pray for Bob. Send him love.
Of course the list goes on and on, and this is a mere scratching of the surface, but it's a beginning. I hope to share with you more and more of the people who join you and I on this adventure. Your name is on this list. We're in this together.
